Mac, Meet XBox 360

X360Nullriver has pulled off a major coup. And I bought the best software application I’ve seen in ages (only $10!).

Connect360 from nullriver adds basic XBox 360 sharing capabilities to a Mac. So I can now start up my X360 and browse my iPhoto library on my HDTV and listen to songs in my iTunes library through my stereo system. Way cool.

It’s just in beta now, so of course there are some problems. Photos tend to load slowly, for example, and only a few music formats are supported. And I hope in the future they add support for movies.

But, whatever, it gives Mac users a way to share media with their X360s without having to go out and burn money on a Windows Media Centre PC.
