Seemingly in response to TechWorld’s relatively negative criticism of the Tablet PC platform (part 1 and part 2), GottaBeMobile.com’s Dennis Rice has posted a somewhat more upbeat review of its current state.
Still, it’s not all wine and roses, even from this evangelist,
and Dennis makes some really good observations.
Quickly summarized, they are:
- Tablet PC has matured
- Microsoft is still committed
- UMPC [Ultra-Mobile PC] is not “mature”
- Touch vs. Pen… I see a great place for both… This is happening, but needs more work for sure.
- Tablet as a “feature”
- Software STILL needs to be developed
